I knew I didn't agree on several issues but didn't learn TTATT until I'd been out 6 years. Learning the real truth about the org. stopped me from ever going back. Leslie

Did any of you know the TATT before you left?
by marriedtoajw ini know that all everyone's experience vary but i ask this because i am under the impression that since jw's are taught to avoid reading material that may be critical of their teachings they just stay away.
yet many of you violated this at some point to come accross information that confirmed or convinced you of "the problems" with the org.
i have also spoken to active jw's online who seem to know the controvercies but still defend the org vigorously.

Angharad: I can't watch them on TV either. That one Indiana Jones movie had snakes and as soon as I saw them I started yelling and had to cover my eyes until hubby told me that scene was over.
Found Sheep: I don't like mice in the house either. It's not that I'm afraid of them, they are so dirty pooping and peeing everywhere and the urine stinks.
Youngbro: Wasn't playing with Sparlock. Maybe I need to get one of those magical Sparlock wizards and he could wave his wand and they would go away.

Panhandlegirl: So sorry, didn't mean to wreck your sleep. Part of the problem is the age of the house. It was built around 1900. There are cracks in the foundation and there is only a partial basement under a very small part of the house. I will be moving everything and checking for any gaps inside that I may have missed. We have been here 2 full years and this is a first, and hopefully the last.

Quendi, yes it was very cool last couple of nights. 9c (not sure what that would be in F)
I sealed all the holes last year because of mice. Spaces where pipes come in, bathroom, kitchen etc. are still sealed. I sealed all holes in the landlord's place downstairs as well. It was so hot and humid this summer that I had a floor model air conditioner running at night in the bedroom with the door shut. I know they don't like vibration so maybe that's why it wasn't in the bedroom before now. I am hoping this is a freakish one time thing.

I have been checking rooms and looking into possible hiding places with a flashlight. Then when done in the room I have blocked the crack under the door with a folded towel jammed under with a screwdriver. Still have a number of places to look (am stalling, can you tell?).

If I could have a cat or dog, I would. I have asthma and am very allergic to animals, and the owners of the house don't want animals in the house anyway.

Oh Rip, I was liking it here fine despite the bees, but I have a hard enough time dealing with snakes that are outside. I have come across them in the garden and out mowing the fields but at least I'm on a riding mower out in the field. I REALLY DON'T WANT THEM IN THE HOUSE, ESPECIALLY ON THE 2nd FLOOR. Hubby is out truckin' in the US so I am alone. SUCKS!

southern Ontario west of Toronto.
It was a garter snake. I know they're harmless but I hate them. How the hell it got in the bedroom is what bothers me. If one got in, are there more? That's what is eating at me. I just missed stepping on it by 3 inches.

I woke up and nearly put my foot on a 2ft long snake that somehow got up to the 2nd floor. I screamed and ran out of the room and started crying. I HATE SNAKES and am TERRIFIED of them. I am still shaking 6 hrs. later. I spotted it later going down the stairs. I used a stick to bang the steps (screaming & crying)till I got it to go to the bottom of the stairs. I opened the door to the outside and pushed the screen door open with the stick.
I am totally freaked out wondering if there are more in the house. I live in the country and have seen them outdoors which is bad enough.
I called my best friend and she came and we took everything out from under the bed and she took everything off the floor in the closet. I have 2 dressers to take out after I get the courage to check the drawers. I don't know if I will be able to sleep tonight. I shoved a towel under the gap of the bedroom door to keep it/them from getting out/in.
I have had a phobia about snakes since I was a kid. Maybe the garden of Eden snake thing has something to do with it. I really don't know. I know this type of snake is not poisonous but I still don't like them. Thx for letting me share. -Leslie-

Exactly Hoser. Very poor example indeed. If anyone else had done what David did they would have been put to death. Maybe the GB gets their ideas as to how the rules apply to the R&F and not to them from this example. Who knows. It is all just so screwed up. -Leslie-
